Arcadia

The City of Arcadia is the county seat for DeSoto County. It is centrally located between Orlando, Ft. Myers, Sarasota and Lake Okeechobee at the crossroads of US 17 and State Route 70. It is where the Old West meets the Old South. Arcadia is quaint, charming and known throughout Florida for its historic downtown antique district. On the fourth Saturday of each month, Arcadia welcomes outside vendors from surrounding areas to set up shop on the streets to pedal their wares and precious finds. Tucked between the shops, you’ll have the chance to enjoy cafes, home cooking, a tea room and even an old fashion ice cream parlor. The Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo, the oldest in the state, is held in March and October at the Mosaic Arena.
